(More customer reviews)I have been searching for a pannier that would stay on, which seems to be a problem with some of the other less expensive panniers. This one does the trick.It has a dual hooking system - two coated metal hooks that go on the rack, and a bungee cord on the back that attaches down below to keep it from jumping off.I go over tracks twice a day and it has not come off.It has a metal insert that you can pop up to keep the bags shape when in use (it has an inner clip to keep it in place), then it folds up when not in use (again it has an adjustable clip to keep it closed). You can slide the bag back on the rack to keep your feet from hitting it.I have a Amsterdam cruiser and it works just fine.The only down side is that there isn't a top to close off the bag (hence the four star instead of five star rating).It has a removable shoulder strap, which I just put in the bag to keep it from getting caught. It seems sturdy and durable and has enough room for a grocery bag if you care to use one. It is easy to remove, but I keep my on just in case I need it, as it isn't in the way when it's folded up.I bought one just to make sure I liked it and I'm buying another.

(More customer reviews)These are great bags. They expand upwards 10 inches and the straps extend to keep the top tight. With cinch straps everywhere, nothing rattles around. Super heavy duty mounting bracket and straps. These babys stay put.
Also, the top covers have a zippered pouch and m.o.l.l.e. type webbing on top.

(More customer reviews)I tend to abuse my outdoor gear. I've had this bag for only a few months and its nearly trashed with the abuse i give it on my daily commute.

The bag is HUGE. I fit 2 laptops, 2 power bricks, a change of clothes and lunch inside. Its VERY heavy and stuffed when i have all that in there, but the daily 1 laptop, 1 power brick, change of clothes and lunch is no problem for it.

The only reason I don't go higher than 3 stars is because this thing does not take my abuse.

Topeak MTX Trunk Bag DX Review

(More customer reviews)This is my second Topeak MTX Trunk Bag DX.I got the first one about five years ago and have used it for my daily commutes to and from work.I provided a review about five years ago, but cannot locate it on Amazon, so I'll try to remember to point out all the good things and some constructive criticism.

This is a great bag that can carry virtually everything I need for my daily commute, with the exception of my shoes.If it were about two or three or four inches longer, I could easily fit a pair of shoes (it's wide enough and tall enough, but not quite long enough).I can carry everything else I need for when I get to work:slacks, belt, shirt, undergarments, necktie, socks, and all of my other stuff (wallet, watch, keys, etc.).

My five year old Topeak bag is actually still in service, but the zipper that closes the bag is slowly "giving up the ghost".This is not a complaint because it has seen five years of heavy service, including not less than four zips per day (closing it before leaving home, opening and closing at work, then opening again at home).

It also has a nice spot on the rear of the bag to put a tail light, which is essential for commuting.

I would highly recommend this bag, but I think that Topeak might have either phased it out or changed its design, so I hope its successor is as good as this one.
